As I spent time tuning into Jesus and the Holy Spirit this morning, talking with them about today’s lesson, the memory of the experience above came to me. I believe that in those moments at the hotel front desk I was experiencing an example of what it is like to see what the Holy Spirit sees. I think it is an example of how we can allow the Holy Spirit to look through us. Normally, when we see, we see a world full of distortions, depths, colors, shades, movement, change, shift and separation. But the Holy Spirit sees beyond our world and only sees a world of oneness. All the Holy Spirit sees is a world of one light. It does not change. It is just one continuous eternal light. If the unforgiven world is the world of distortion that we see, then the forgiven world must be something that shows us something else like oneness. And it does! Jesus tells us in the Course that the light that we can see is the symbol for Love. He also tells us that when we see the light we can feel it too; we can feel Love at the same time. It is our way home. If we forget about all the things that we normally worry about or preoccupy our minds with and offer our openness and eyes to the Holy Spirit, He will give gifts back to us in the form of these types of light experiences. He will give us gifts of perceiving the light of the real world, the light of our true home, the light of our true reality, the light of our true Selves.
