No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth.
The image of the door in today’s lesson reminds me of an insight I received from Holy Spirit many years ago. With this insight, it was the idea of letting go of something that did not serve me any longer, a needed change. However, it was one that I was ambivalent to make. With this decision it would seem that I would be leaving my traditional spiritual family and embarking into the yet unknown ACIM like-minded family.
In meditation I heard that the door lay before me open and yielding for me but my hand was still on the doorknob of the door that was closing behind me. The door open before me showed a fresh outdoor scene, one of fresh air, a new way to live. There was staleness in what was closing and I still hung on to it out of fear. Old ways are hard to let go of. We relish in these old patterns even if they do not serve us any longer. Lessons still come and go and continue to appear until we are ready to let go and change. As I received this message then, I realized that it was Holy Spirit’s encouragement shining ever so brightly, leading me onward to the truth. I was seeking and He was allowing me to succeed. I did release the old spiritual family and transitioned into the new. A wise and grateful decision I had made. Of course all these years later, it certainly does feel right to be exactly where I am now and to trust that I am where I am meant to be. I am on the journey and so is everyone else. We are all doing the best that we can. I do not need to question another’s process, but simply allow them to be where they are at any given time. As they are ready, they too, will let go of the door that has closed behind them and step forward into the brilliant Door of Truth.
