A meaningless world engenders fear.
“Nothing without meaning exists.”
Although I definitely give a lot of meaning to what I see and experience. We search for meaning. We ask “Who am I?” Yet, here it is all nothing. Now this is not something to be depressed about. It is about that only God can write the meaning.
“The ego rushes in frantically to establish its own ideas there…”
How many times did I believe I knew the reason for a situation or what a friend said in an email. I think “I know” but what it comes down to is that I know nothing at all. My fear searches for meaning so I can feel safe.
If I am with fear, everything I see and touch will project that fear. But as I look around today, and as we do together, we can know “I am looking at a meaningless world. A meaningless world engenders fear because I think I am in competition with God.”
It is easy to find resistance at this point, but take this lesson as it is and keep moving forward. The understanding will come in time.
