There is no peace except the peace of God.
I love this lesson! This lesson and any lesson speaking of peace!
It instructs, “Come home. You have not found your happiness in foreign places….”
Isn’t that true?
I cannot find happiness nor peace outside of myself.
Sit a while with the thought. “There is no peace except the peace of God.”
Even the changes I make in my life, will not bring me peace. I know this because of my daily life experiences. The hope for peace is because I put God first and allow myself to be guided. It’s easy to quickly judge a situation and take an easy out. I don’t want to do so, and I practice accordingly. I want to be with the thought of peace. I do not have to stay in a situation that doesn’t serve my serenity, nor do I have to prove how spiritual I am by staying in it. Staying in a situation, well, that’s the ego’s take on it proving my worth.
God’s take is this. Come to Me first. Release your expectations and judgments. Let Me assist you. Sometimes it is to leave and sometimes it is to stay if even a little while longer. In this case, I had felt it for months, but I know there was something else spiritually occurring. The time was right and it was yesterday when I did so.
Peace is always the answer. It is tuning within to that internal barometer, “Am I feeling peace in this situation? Have I offered the situation to the Holy Spirit for forgiveness? Have I requested His Assistance?”
If I have, then I can know what is next. He will always lead me down the path to quietness.
Peace is the answer to conflicting goals, to senseless journeys, frantic, vain pursuits, and meaningless endeavors. Now the way is easy, sloping gently toward the bridge where freedom lies within the peace of God.
