Keys to this Lesson
Jesus tells us here that pain is self-deception.
Why? Because it proclaims God is cruel.
Pain is a sign that illusions reign instead of truth.
It demonstrates that God is denied.
If God is real, there is no pain.
If pain is real, there is no God.
We seem to experience pain in the world in various ways, however, Jesus tells us that it is our own thoughts that cause us pain.
He goes on to say:
Nothing external to your mind can hurt or injure you in any way. There is no cause beyond yourself that can reach down and bring oppression. No one but yourself affects you. There is nothing in the world that has the power to make you ill or sad, or weak or frail. 6 But it is you who have the power to dominate all things you see by merely recognizing what you are.
The world cannot cause pain, it may seem to, but it is unreal.
In Truth you are safe.
Put down judgment and everything else that hides your own Holiness.
Joy is yours.
Pain is illusion; joy, reality.
Pain is but sleep; joy is awakening.
Pain is deception; joy alone is truth.
We make the choice today between illusions and truth, or pain and joy.
Let peace be in your mind today instead of conflict.
Spend time as you feel guided.
Let gratitude fill your heart.
