“Can you imagine what a state of mind without illusions is? How it would feel? Try to remember when there was a time,–perhaps a minute, maybe even less–when nothing came to interrupt your peace; when you were certain you were loved and safe. Then try to picture what it would be like to have that moment be extended to the end of time and to eternity. Then let the sense of quiet that you felt be multiplied a hundred times, and then be multiplied another hundred more.”
This is the scene that came to mind: I was a young girl, lying in bed on a warm summer night. Through the open windows came the rhythmic chirping of crickets and the fragrance of sweet clover. Suddenly, a mockingbird began to sing, his song rich and varied. I knew that my parents loved me, and I was at peace.
Yes, this is part of the dream, but it is peaceful and represents for me the beginning of true perception. Truth will indeed cleanse all errors from my mind, and I will do my part by listening within for the voice of my Teacher, who gently guides me on the journey Home.
