“You need the practice periods today. The exercises teach sin is not real, and all that you believe must come from sin will never happen, for it has no cause. Accept Atonement with an open mind, which cherishes no lingering belief that you have made a devil of God’s Son. There is no sin. We practice with this thought as often as we can today, because it is the basis for today’s idea.”
Before I came to the Course, when someone, including me, said, “God’s will be done,” it was often with a sense of resignation. If God was real, then His will would be done, no matter what we wanted, and that will might call for us to do something difficult and even painful. Now, when I say, “Your will be done, Father,” I do so with a sense of lightness and ease, because I know that God wills only good for me and all of us. I may not perceive it yet, my mind being clouded by the ego’s thought system, but I am certain that when I am willing to give up the nightmare I’m weaving now, I will know true joy, a joy not dependent on circumstances of any kind.
