I still believe I live in this world, with a body which needs food when it is hungry, medicine when it is sick, etc. Because of this belief, this lesson is challenging to me; and yet, I see the point of letting the belief go, and when I’m ready, I will. In the meantime, trusting in the love of God, I take small steps each day toward my awakening from the “long dream of disaster” I’ve woven. To do this, I accept Jesus’ advice at the beginning of the Workbook, and simply apply the idea to whatever thoughts or situations come today.
“We have observed before how many senseless things have seemed to you to be salvation. Each has imprisoned you with laws as senseless as itself. You are not bound by them. Yet to understand that this is so, you must first realize salvation lies not there. While you would seek for it in things that have no meaning, you bind yourself to laws that make no sense. Thus do you seek to prove salvation is where it is not.”
