“If you are doing the exercises properly, you will begin to feel a sense of being lifted up and carried ahead. Your little effort and small determination call on the power of the universe to help you, and God Himself will raise you from darkness into light. You are in accord with His Will. You cannot fail because your will is His.”
For me, the operative word in this paragraph is “properly”. Until today, I have allowed a fearful image to block the way to the Light, an image of a circle of balloons surrounding the brightness within. Balloons? What’s so fearful about that? Well, I have a fear of them. Technically, it’s called globophobia.
So, today I asked the Holy Spirit to help me–and help was given. The image which came to mind was of a wall in front of me, which I could sense. When I stepped forward, the wall became simply the feeling of mist on my face, like a fine drizzle of rain. I continued with the exercise and found that indeed I felt as if I was being carried forward. And the Light? It came in the form of a feeling of deep peace and safety. What was different today? My willingness to ask for help; my allowing of the “power of the universe” to aid me.
