“Illusions about yourself and the world are one. That is why all forgiveness is a gift to yourself. Your goal is to find out who you are, having denied your Identity by attacking creation and its Creator. Now you are learning how to remember the truth. For this attack must be replaced by forgiveness, so that thoughts of life may replace thoughts of death.”
Tonight, as I was meditating, I was filled with an intense sadness as I contemplated the idea of letting go of who I think I am and claiming my true identity as part of God’s one creation, which the Course calls the Sonship. I was near to tears, when I became aware of these words, not audibly spoken, but simply welling up within me: “Don’t be afraid, my sister. I’ve told you that sinlessness is what you are. I’ve told you that unbounded strength is within you just waiting to be tapped. I won’t leave you to face this fear alone, but will gently guide you through it. Let me walk beside you and love you.
Now I had a different kind of tears welling up–ones of gratitude and love. Thank you, Elder Brother.
