“It is senseless for me to search wildly about for salvation” isn’t that quote something else in today’s review of Lesson 71? Actually this entire lesson review, and you see it is all in “I” messages, is important for us to consider. We have searched “wildly” everywhere for salvation, happiness and peace. Sometimes I know I was as a chicken with its’ head cut off doing so, flailing about, hoping to gain comfort. It doesn’t work, neither does burying our head in the sand and isolating ourselves. It’s being honest with the Holy Spirit as we say, “I will not undertake looking into the darkness for my solutions.” We have to be brave and courageous in this. The more we hide, the more pain we experience. As we are stepping out of that darkness and stepping into truth with Him, we will come to know that our plan will NEVER work.
Our judgments are grievances and they do attack our only hope for salvation. “No, not me, I could never be saved,” you may say. I know I said it before in my life. But you can, you have only been mistaken. Step out of the mistake, step out of the self-attack, and join with your brothers in the light of day. Why would you continually punish yourself by withholding happiness? Does that really make sense? Is the hold you have on to your own guilt that strong? Do you really want to hold on the guilt? LET IT GO!
