Lesson 72 – Holding grievances is an attack on God’s plan for salvation.

Keys to this Lesson

The ego’s plan for salvation is an attack on God’s plan.
The ego attempts to destroy God’s plan.
The ego wants to replace God.
The ego embodies this idea.
The ego has made this body of ours to keep us alone and seemingly separate.
It seems that we are limited in many ways including communication with God.
Although we cannot be separate from God and we are always in communication with Him.
We never deal with who a person is, we are always dealing with what the body of the person is doing.
This is limitation in our thinking.
If God would be a body then our salvation would be death.
But God is not a body and neither are we.
Today we will no longer condemn ourselves for the belief in the body and the belief in the separation from God.
The truth is there within us, no matter how much the ego will kick and scream and no matter how many distractions the ego will throw up in our face.
We can accept God’s plan for salvation.
We can forgive.

Exercise

Longer Practice Periods
Our goal is to become aware that God’s plan for salvation has already been accomplished in us.
We must replace attack with acceptance through our practice today.
When we attack we cannot know what God’s plan is for us.
We attack what we do not recognize.

We try to lay aside judgment and ask for what His plan is for us by saying:
What is salvation, Father? I do not know. Tell me, that I may understand.

Wait in quiet for His answer.
We have been so distracted that we have not listened for God’s Voice to speak to us.
We have listened to the loud callings of the ego instead.
We have used grievances to keep Him away from us.

When we ask, we will be answered.
Be patient in listening for His answer.
This may seem hard to do, but just have trust that He will answer.

As Jesus tells us:

Whenever you feel your confidence wane and your hope of success flicker and go out, repeat your question and your request, remembering that you are asking of the infinite Creator of infinity, Who created you like Himself:
What is salvation, Father? I do not know. Tell me, that I may understand.
He will answer. Be determined to hear.

Shorter Practices
1-2 practices per hour.
These practices begin with:
Holding grievances is an attack on God’s plan for salvation. Let me accept it instead. What is salvation, Father?

Have your eyes closed preferably, wait a minute or so in silence and listen for His answer.

Since you’re here… …we have a small favor to ask. More people are reading our posts, listening to our audios and watching our videos than ever before but far fewer are donating for it. As an all-volunteer ministry, you can see why we need to ask for your help. MiraclesOne provides ACIM resources freely however it takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe in encouraging others to practically apply the Course principles in their lives – because it might just make the one difference in your life. If everyone who reads, listens or watches and likes what we offer helps to pay for it we can continue to afford our expenses and keep our resources FREE to all ACIM Students. Monthly Donors receive free gifts in appreciation for their support.
