Unexpected occurrences do not have to keep me from remembering that God is the light in which I see. It is mind training Jesus is accomplishing with us. I can ask myself, “Do I want to train my mind?” or “Do I like the way my mind is now?” Excellent questions for self-reflection.
Obviously for me personally, I have been training my mind for a long time, for several decades through meditation and of course, ACIM. When I came to ACIM back then, to me it was a sign of self-love. Interestingly enough, I bought the book on Valentine’s Day. For too long I had chosen not to love myself nor to see myself with the light of God. That moment I picked up the book was the moment I began to see the spark of light within.
Light is synonymous with truth and with love. Don’t be concerned if you do not see a physical light, perhaps you experience it differently. If you find the sense of relaxation and the feeling of approaching God as Jesus indicates here, then you are indeed practicing it correctly. If not, don’t judge yourself, love yourself even more. Every lesson is to help us to remember the truth that we are loved by God. He does not care of our forgetfulness or mistakes, only the ego keeps score.
Relax and allow it to occur. Do not force it. If it seems nothing occurs, just remember “God is the light in which I see.”
I’ve been there and I’ve been here. I still have to remember truth. We do it for each and everyone.
