Keys to this Lesson
This is the only way out of fear.
This way cannot fail.
Our thoughts make up the world.
Jesus needs to work with our thoughts so that our perception can be changed.
We do not want our attack thoughts for they make up the world.
We can’t change the world or mourn about it.
This world cannot be changed because it is merely an effect, an effect of our thoughts.
If we change our thoughts then we are changing the cause.
With the cause changed the effect will follow.
We see a world as a symbol of vengeance.
Everything we see is our attack thoughts presented to us.
We do not see ourselves as the image maker to this world.
We are not trapped here in the world because the cause of it can be changed.
We have to identify the cause and then let it go so it can be replaced with reality.
The first two steps require your cooperation.
The final step does not.
Jesus tells us that our images have already been replaced.
It’s already happened!
By our willingness to take the first two steps we will see that it is true.
5 practice periods.
Also use as needed.
Look around you.
Repeat idea slowly to yourself.
Then close your eyes.
Devote a minute to mind-searching for as many attack thoughts as you can.
As each one comes to mind:
I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts about that friend who was dishonest with me.
Hold the attack thought in the mind as you say this, then dismiss the thought and keep going.
Include thoughts of attacking and of being attacked.
You will see that these are the same.
Treat them the same for these practice periods.
Jesus ends by saying, When you finally learn that thoughts of attack and of being attacked are not different, you will be ready to let the cause go.
