Keys to this Lesson
We are looking at how cause and effect works here in the world.
So why are there no neutral things?
If we remember from our previous lesson, we do not have neutral thoughts.
The thought comes first, then the world is projected.
This lesson then is a continuation of what we have been learning in the previous lessons.
Why could this idea be hard?
We want to believe that it is something outside of us that is affecting us.
Say to yourself, I see no neutral things because I have no neutral thoughts.
Look around you, glance on each thing, then say:
I do not see a neutral wall, because my thoughts about walls are not neutral.
I do not see a neutral body, became my thoughts about bodies are not neutral.
No distinctions between animate or inanimate, pleasant or not.
You do not see anything that is really alive or really joyous.
3-4 practice periods, no less than three.
If you experience discomfort or resistance, reduce the length of the practice period.
